Tanner Menees, viola

Tanner Menees, performs the viola largely in a chamber music setting. Mr. Menees has collaborated in chamber music performances with notable artists such as Martin Beaver, Miriam Fried, Clive Greensmith, Richie Hawley, Gary Hoffman, and Ronald Leonard. His summers have taken him to Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute, Menuhin Festival String Academy, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, Juilliard String Quartet Seminar, and McGill International String Quartet Academy. Mr. Menees also performed on Ravinia’s annual tour in 2017, which performed at venues in Chicago, Boston, New York City, and Stamford.   Mr. Menees is also a part of the Los Angeles Ensemble, a piano quartet based in LA.

He has served as principal viola for the Colburn Orchestra under the batons of Yehuda Gilad, Sir Neville Marriner, and Robert Spano. In the 2015-16 concert season, he performed as a soloist with the Colburn Orchestra under maestro Thierry Fischer. Tanner Menees is an Artist Diploma candidate studying with Paul Coletti at the Colburn School, where he also received his Bachelor of Music degree.
